and Fig. 8 from p. 131. With regard to Fig. 6 he states that:
"About eight feet higher in the section, several erect Calamites, from 4 to 8 feet in length and 3 to 5
inches in diameter, occur in the micaceous sandstone No. 88. They do not present any traces of roots."

"A long interval now follows without any erect trees, the next in order being Calamites without roots in
